The Belvedere Alumni Network connects participants of the Belvedere Summer School. Its goal is to build digital skills, share experience, and foster long-term collaboration in the cultural sector.
The Belvedere Summer School teaches practical digital collection strategies, storytelling, online presentation, Linked Open Data, and the use of AI, with international experts guiding participants through workshops and lectures, closely integrating theory and practice.
Serving as a dynamic space for professional exchange and collaboration, the Belvedere Alumni Network was launched alongside the international Summer Institute in 2023, supported by the Getty Foundation in Los Angeles. Since then, the network has grown with each summer-school year. Its activities are driven by alumni who work in museums, collection institutions, research, and education. Members independently initiate projects and collaborate to develop new ideas. Regular events—including biannual online meetings, annual gatherings in Vienna, as well as workshops, lectures, and exclusive exhibition tours—are designed to cultivate dialogue. Coordination is led by an alumni representative chosen from the previous year’s cohort.
In this way, the Belvedere Summer School not only promotes the ongoing development of digital skills, but also, through its ever-expanding network, offers the opportunity to actively shape the future of digital collections and strengthen the community in the long term.
